HANDS AND WRIST PAIN

HANDS AND WRIST PAIN

April 4, 2013

The hand and wrist are complex structures made up of 27 bones, multiple joints, and numerous soft tissues including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. The complexity of the hand and wrist allow us to accomplish amazing things with our hands, but can also leave us susceptible to injuries and pain syndromes.

The physical therapists at Premier are uniquely trained to evaluate and treat not only hand and wrist issues related to trauma and surgery, but also repetitive motion and overuse injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and arthritis. Rather than focusing solely on the area of pain, Premier therapists take a more holistic approach to evaluating hand and wrist patients by looking at posture, ergonomics, shoulder girdle function, movement patterns, and other more subtle factors that contribute to dysfunction. Utilizing a variety of hands-on techniques in addition to proven technologies and exercise protocols, Premier Therapists quickly return patients to optimal bio-mechanics and function of the complex hand and wrist movement.
